Isaac Manchester arrived in Washington County in 1797 and built an elegant Georgian manor on a 400-acre farm for his wife, Phebe, and 12 children.
Today, the manor, Plantation Plenty, is an organic farm with a pond, a bank barn, 175 grazing cattle, Berkshire pigs, a crowing Rhode Island Red rooster and two goats named Bella and Frank.
But the survival of Plantation Plenty, which remains in the Manchester family after more than two centuries, is threatened.
