OCEAN CITY — A landmark mansion in Ocean City has been knocked down.

Its owner says he had to do it because taxes were so high and he could not find a buyer for the 1924 DuBois estate.

Donald DuBois told The Press of Atlantic City he tried to sell the mansion for the past three years but could not find a taker. DuBois also said he couldn’t go on paying nearly $16,000 a year in property taxes plus inheritance taxes.
