The National Museum of American Illustration, located in a 19th
century French chateau in a Rhode Island resort town, has just announced that
their latest exhibition will pair Norman Rockwell with Tom Wolfe’s
illustrations from his 1981 book In Our
Time. Like Wolfe’s writing, the ink portraits are said to be humorous and
caustic and curators chose them to intentionally clash with Rockwell’s
idealized America.
