A project to redevelop a museum at a historic castle in Essex has received £3.2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Colchester Castle has been given the money as part of a £4.2m plan to refurbish the Norman building and upgrade its displays.

The money will be used to help tell the history of the Roman town, improve the museum shop and insulate its roof.
