AUSTIN — Restoration of the burned Texas Governor’s Mansion is reaching another important milestone with most of the work now completed on the building’s famous front columns.
The six columns of the Greek Revival-style mansion were probably the best-known feature of the historic home, and their charred appearance after an arson attack in June 2008 became a sad symbol of the fire damage.
