Built in the 1130s, The Manor is one of the oldest continuously inhabited
houses in Britain and much of the original house remains virtually intact,
in spite of more than 900 years of changes. The house was recreated and made
famous as Green Knowe, the estate at the centre of the series of six books
by Lucy Boston, who lived there when she wrote them.
