Essex County is considering a $1.43 million plan to rehabilitate Kip’s Castle. The project would include window restorations, handicapped accessible ramps and repairs to the castle’s roofs and gutters.

Kip’s Castle, in an 11-acre property on Crestmont Road in Verona and Montclair, was purchased by Essex County in 2007 with New Jersey Green Acres and Essex County Open Space Trust Funds.
