At the base of the Bull Run mountains, once-proud Evergreen Manor had a surrounding working plantation of more than 1,000 acres in the 19th century.
Until now, the nearly 190-year-old manor near Haymarket – which stood empty for about 50 years – had been gradually deteriorating.
It was infested with termites. The roof was leaking and chunks of ceiling were falling down – just to name a few of its many problems.
