Local non-profit revamps effort to save historic castle in Johnson City | WJHL

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- A local non-profit says they are racing against the clock in order to raise millions of dollars to save a local castle.

The Oaks Castle, built in the 1920’s and once a private residence, is now on the market for just over 1.5 million dollars.

Cher Cornett with Create Appalachia says instead of seeing the home go back to a private residence, they want to turn it into a public venue.
