A rare butterfly is causing a flutter after moving into a derelict mansion.

Wildlife experts have spotted a Large Skipper making a home for itself in the fenced-off Belleisle House.

The unusual rustic orange insect was spied during a nature trail.

It is the first time one has been seen in Ayr as they are normally found further south.
