Not everyone can say their home is a castle — with turrets. Architect Elisabete Saldanha can.

Saldanha discovered the ruins of an 18th-century, castle-like structure in Guimaraes, Portugal, and wanted to make it a modern home for her, her husband and three young children while also retaining as much of the original building as possible.
