For more than 1,000 years it has been a picture-perfect British village, with a clutch of thatched, limestone cottages, towering church, grand inn, post office and a fine Queen Anne manor house at its heart.
But historic Chettle House, in Dorset, is to go under the hammer, together with 117 acres of parkland, paddocks and woodland – having fallen victim to a vicious and long-running family feud.
