Lincoln Castle has won an international award after fighting off competition from across the globe.
The prestigious New Cultural Experience prize was handed over to castle officials in London as part of the National Geographic Traveller Reader Awards.
Readers voted in their thousands for the iconic Lincoln landmark, which has beaten the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and The Musée de l’Homme in Paris to the award.
