Buckingham Palace could host State Opening of Parliament – Royal Central

In light of a new MP report, it is possible that the State Opening of Parliament could be moved to Westminster Abbey or Buckingham Palace for the duration of any major renovations to the Palace of Westminster.

London’s Palace of Westminster urgently needs repairs – CNN.com


They say the buildings which are “a masterpiece of Victorian and medieval architecture and engineering” are in danger of “an impending crisis.”

Since its construction, many features of the Palace complex — a UNESCO world heritage site — have never been renovated.

Sweden’s Prince Alexander baptized at palace | WTOP


STOCKHOLM (AP) — Prince Alexander, the newest member of Sweden’s royal family, was baptized Friday at Drottningholm Palace outside Stockholm.

About 150 guests attended the ceremony in the palace chapel for the baby boy, who was born in April.

He is the first child of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia and is fifth in the line of succession.
