Popular local wedding venue Darver Castle is set for an expansion.
The 12th century castle in Readypenny will be expanded over a three year period with 38 additional bedrooms to be built in the existing courtyard.
The bar and civil ceremony room will also be refurbished as part of work announced today
Owners Aidan and Mary Carville, who bought the castle in 1997, say no weddings will be affected by the ongoing work at the venue.

Loyola University Chicago invites the public to Cuneo Mansion and Gardens for a sneak peek of ongoing restoration projects and self-guided tours from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays Sept. 10 and 24, Oct. 8 and 22 and Nov. 5 and 19. Property manager Lisa Cushing-Davis will be on hand to brief visitors on the work that Loyola has accomplished and what remains to be done.
