Patio project progress


RECOVERY of Velez Blanco Castle’s Patio of Honour is finally more than just a rumour as the first official stage of the project has been published in the Junta de Andalucia regional government’s Official Bulletin.

The patio, the original of which is on display at the New York Metropolitan Museum, is to be rebuilt in its original location, hopefully attracting hundreds of visitors to the area and providing employment while promoting Macael marble at the same time.

Tea house opens at Romania’s Bran Castle this fall


A tea house will be opened at Romania’s Bran Castle (also known as Dracula’s Castle) this fall, according to Bogdana Balmus, the castle’s PR manager.

Moreover, a multimedia project unique in the tourism market in Southeast Europe is also in cards for the castle, and will most likely be launched next year.

Study of Ieyasu castle keep ruins may lead to full restoration:The Asahi Shimbun

SHIZUOKA–Feudal fortress Sunpu Castle may yet be restored to its former glory, but first excavation work must be carried out on the ruins of the keep’s stone base.
