Giant living Easter egg unveiled at Lowther

RICS warns historic buildings could be at risk from skills crisis – FMJ

Central Park’s Belvedere Castle and two playgrounds to close for renovations this summer | 6sqft


While the outside of the Belvedere Castle looks strong, the inside of the 146-year-old fortress is actually crumbling. The cracked pavement, leaking roof, and plumbing issues encouraged the Central Park Conservancy to start a 10-year $300 million campaign last summer to renovate its structures, as well as surrounding playgrounds. MoHC completes restoration work of Al Hillah, Al Khandaq castles – Oman – Muscat Daily

Eng Suleiman bin Hamad al Subhi, director of the Restoration and Maintenance Department in MoHC, said, “We started the development of Al Hillah and Al Khandaq castles in the middle of 2015, and ended work in the first quarter of 2017. The work in the two castles included restoration of doors and windows to prevent birds from entering the rooms, changing the electrical systems, installing new lamps suitable for these historic buildings and installation of air conditioning systems.”

North Coast 500 creates history guide | Press and Journal

Dunrobin Castle near GolspieA “cheat sheet” for a nine-day history tour of the Highlands has been created by the organisers of the North Coast 500.

The free online guide was produced to give tips to tourists about what they can see along the route.

Central Park’s Belvedere Castle, 2 Playgrounds to Close for Major Upgrades – Upper East Side – DNAinfo New York


MANHATTAN — Central Park’s Belvedere Castle and a pair of playgrounds will be closed at the end of the summer and early fall for major reconstruction work, officials said.
