An iconic castle in east Sussex will be transformed into a real-life Hogwarts for adults, where wannabe witches and wizards can try their hand at magic.

Herstmonceux Castle will become the The Bothwell School of Witchcraft for one weekend this coming August, following similar successful events in Europe.

Participants will be sorted into wizarding houses and will take part in a number of lessons in and around the castle during the weekend.

When a property is considered a national treasure like Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina, figuring how much it’s worth is complicated. 

But Buncombe County appraisers have put a price tag on America’s largest private residence, a 135,000-square-foot home with 250 rooms that was built in 1895 by George Vanderbilt, one of the heirs to the Vanderbilt industrial fortune.

12-storey tower part of Château Laurier expansion plans filed with city – Tourism – Ottawa Business Journal


That includes the height of the two towers planned for the rear of the property, which was not disclosed when property owner Larco Investments released its plans last year.

City documents state Larco wants to build an 11-storey (33.25 metres) tower on the east side and 12-storey (36.2 metres) structure on the west side. Both would be on a podium.
