Chepstow Castle was founded in 1067
THIS year will be a historic one for Chepstow as the town celebrates the 950th anniversary of the founding of the town by Norman conquerors.

A historic Scottish castle with 40 bedrooms has gone up for sale for just £900,000.
Carbisdale Castle in Sutherland, north west Highlands, was originally put on the market after it was discovered the castle would require extensive repairs.

THE fan zone organised at Caldicot Castle for the Six Nations clash between Wales and Italy on Saturday 5th February has been cancelled.
The event, which planned to show the match on a large screen along with entertainment had to be cancelled because of weather.

Dozens of firefighters raced to tackle a major incident at a historic castle. But there was no reason to panic, as Powis Castle, in Welshpool, was being used as the centre of a major training exercise for fire crews from Shropshire and Mid Wales.
Almost 60 firefighters and nine appliances drew water supplies from two ponds and the Montgomery Canal as part of the training exercise.
