Cuomo Signs Bills, More Westchester Villages, Towns Can Collect ‘Bed Tax’ – White Plains, NY Patch


There’s good news for municipal coffers in several towns and villages in the Hudson Valley.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed eight pieces of legislation that will allow some towns and villages in Westchester and Orange counties to collect an extra tax on hotel rooms.

The deal comes with lawmakers’ assurances to seek a plan to address local hotel taxes statewide, the Journal News said.

The walls of Silves castle, in the Algarve city of Silves, are to be repaired to a cost of €1.5 million.

 

Stretches of the castle walls, some of which face onto public roads, are severely degraded and reportedly at risk of collapsing.

Himachal Government To Acquire Bantony Castle For Rs 27.8 Crore | Hill Post


Shimla: The Himachal Government today announced a decision to acquire the entire Bantony Castle estate, a heritage property near The Mall here for a payment of Rs. 27.84 crore from private owners.
