Be king of your own castle in Fife – in pictures | Money | The Guardian

The trouble with castles is that they’re big and expensive and draughty. Castle Cottage in Newport-on-Tay, Fife is a user-friendly alternative, although it too is rather draughty and you’ll need to muster a good deal more than the £195,000 asking price to make it habitable. Built in 1812, it’s a homage to the Strawberry Hill gothic style championed by Horace Walpole and sits eccentrically among its conservative neighbours on the banks of the river Tay. Kajuru Castle: Nigeria’s Unknown Hidden Gem – NTA.ng – Breaking News, Nigeria, Africa, Worldwide

Sometimes last year, a colleague who happens to be a friend of mine, posted this beautiful picture of a castle on BBM and words can’t express how dazed I was when he told me that this is actually located in Nigeria. This led me into a foray of research and “googling” on this masterpiece of Architecture.

Kajuru Castle is not an ancient monument. It was built in 1978 by a controversial German expatriate living in Kaduna. The style is very European and clearly German, with a baronial ha… (View original article)

Be the king of your own Fife castle – The Courier

A waterfront home that could be fit for a king is on sale in Fife.

Castle Cottage sits on the banks of the Tay in Newport. Although not strictly speaking a castle, its Strawberry Hill Gothic style borrows from the medieval style.

Built in 1812, the B listed building is in a derelict condition and requires full renovation. Whoever has the means to do so will have one of the area’s most wonderful riverfront homes, however. The stepped gardens stretch down to the river’s edge i… (View original article)

The historical Seb Castle stands tall as one of the tourist attractions in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Seb Castle is constructed of clay and mortar blend with loads of sticky plant seeds. In some parts wooden slabs cut from pal… (View original article)
