The Cadw Dragon spent the summer touring castles, and the body reported a 22% increase in family visitors.

Caernarfon Castle’s beautiful installation Poppies: Weeping Window has attracted nearly 40,000 visitors since being unveiled two weeks ago.

By artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, it arrived in Wales as part of a UK-wide tour organised by 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary.

Multi-million pound plans revealed for Merthyr’s Cyfarthfa Castle – Wales Online


Multi-million pound plans to redevelop part of a castle in the South Wales Valleys – used as a school until a few years ago – have been revealed.

Cyfarthfa Castle, which sits in the grounds of Cyfarthfa Park in Merthyr Tydfil, could see a section of the castle redeveloped and restored.

The proposals include creating a museum learning zone, collections store and research centre, as well as an enterprise centre at the popular tourist attraction.

Durham Castle and Cathedral Celebrate 30 Years as UNESCO Site – Durham Magazine

Durham is due to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of being awarded its UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS).
