Queen Victoria is being given a much-needed deep clean – or at least her statue is anyway.

The famous marble sculpture which greets visitors to Kensington Palace , her childhood home, is undergoing a thorough three-week wash which will see it restored to its refulgent best.

New Indigenous artwork highlights Sydney’s little-known Garden Palace fire of 1882 – Australian Geographic

ON 22 SEPTEMBER 1882, a fire swept through the Sydney Royal Botanic Garden, reducing both its Garden Palace and large catalogue of Indigenous cultural objects to ash. Disc of 8,000 Swarovski crystals installed at baroque Viennese palace


Vienna Design Week 2016: London design studio Fredrikson Stallard has brought its glimmering Prologue installation to Vienna’s baroque Belvedere Palace (+ slideshow).

An interpretation of the sun, Prologue contains 8,000 Swarovski crystals held in a round frame. It is four metres high and weighs more than a tonne.
