From the Country Life Archive: Arthur Oswald reports on the historic fortress of Atholl lies in Strath Garry, three miles above the Pass of Killiecrankie. After being turned into a Georgian mansion in 1747-49, it regained its castellated appearance in 1869, when the exterior was remodelled by Bryce.
